The City of Thorold is reconstructing Hamilton Boulevard, Ross Street, and Thorold Avenue. Utility replacement is slated to begin in 2025 to allow for road reconstruction, and water main/storm sewer installation will follow in 2026. This project aims to renew aging underground and road infrastructure and improve overall system performance. The project includes the full reconstruction of Ross Street and Hamilton Boulevard, along with the installation of a new storm sewer to enhance drainage and the replacement of the existing water main to improve reliability and long-term service.
These infrastructure upgrades will modernize municipal services within the corridor, address drainage deficiencies, and support safe and reliable operation of the roadway for residents and road users.
The key aspects involved in this work will include, but not be limited to:
Upgrading the roadways to an urban cross-section, including drainage improvements and a new cul-de-sac
Installing new curbs and sidewalks
Installing a new sidewalk on the east side of Thorold Avenue
Replacing the asphalt roadway
Replacing the water main
Installing new storm sewers
Underground utility installations
