City of Thorold is undertaking the design of three new parks in Port Robinson West areas of Kottmeier Road and Port Robinson Road (herein referred to as Area 1, 2 & 3 Parks) in the City of Thorold. The park designs will consider current and future residential development in Port Robinson West.

City is proposing to construct a total of three (3) parks in the Port Robinson West areas of the subdivision as identified on the approved Thorold’s Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan dated October, 2020. The proposed parks locations are shown on the plan in the photos as

Area 1, 2 and 3 Parks are intended to provide the required park amenities for the current and future residential development on the east and west sides of Kottmeier Road in Port Robinson West, and for residents living on the north areas of Port Robinson Road. These park designs are being carried out following the City of Thorold’s approved Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan dated October, 2020.


Phase 1:

The Port Robinson West Park – Stage 1 construction project has been completed.

Phase 2: We Are Here!

  • Phase 2 of the Port Robinson Park project includes the installation of playground equipment, splash pad equipment, hardscaping of the remainder walkways, an adult fitness area construction, and a parking lot construction.
  • The contract for the Phase 2 construction work has been awarded by City Council, and agreements are currently being issued to the successful vendors.
  • Next Steps: The City will be initiating the project with the successful vendors within the next one to two weeks. Field construction activities are expected to resume approximately two weeks thereafter.
