The City of Thorold, known as "Canada's Most Patriotic City," covers a large area of 21,000 acres and is home to approximately 24,000 residents. As one of the fastest-growing cities in the Niagara Region, Thorold faces a significant challenge: providing enough parking for everyone. To address this, the City is creating a City-Wide Parking Master Plan. This plan will help manage today's parking needs and prepare for the future as the City continues to grow.

The busy downtown area will receive special attention. The City of Thorold will examine the number of parking spots currently available, how often they're used, and what might be needed in the future.

Subdivisions and areas around schools will also be studied closely. The City of Thorold wants to understand the unique parking challenges in these places and come up with solutions that work for everyone.

There is also a plan to investigate parking at city-owned places, such as municipal buildings and parks. Ideas include - sharing parking with nearby places or setting up partnerships with neighboring parking facilities.

To ensure the success of the City-Wide Parking Master Plan, the City has awarded the master plan to R.V. Anderson Associates Limited, experts in this field who will lead the project.
