Temporary Intersection Construction: Pine St. and Sullivan Ave. Intersection
On Monday, September 28 at 7:00 a.m. to Tuesday, September 29 at 6:00 p.m., the intersection of Pine St. and Sullivan Ave. will be under construction. The contractor is ahead of schedule and plans to attach the new sanitary main pipeline to the existing manhole located on Pine St.
Construction crews will occupy most of the intersection, however, they will yield the right of way to all emergency & essential services travelling north & south on Pine St.
Larger vehicles like busses and fire trucks will have to use extra caution when traveling north bound on Pine St., as they will have to veer left around the excavation. Smaller, passenger vehicles should not have any issues navigating the construction other than experiencing a delay which will cause a longer commute.
Those requiring access to Sullivan Ave., east of Pine St. will have to enter from Towpath or Front Streets.

Temporary Road Closure: Sullivan Ave. - Towpath St. to Front St.
Sullivan Avenue from Towpath Street to Front Street temporarily closed on Friday, October 2 and will remain closed for approximately three weeks. The City contractor is continuing to replace aging underground infrastructure and reconstructing the roadway within downtown Thorold.
As construction progresses along Sullivan Avenue, the closure will affect on-street parking and access to one entrance of Parking Lot 1 and the Thorold Community Credit Union parking lot. Both parking lots will remain accessible through their alternate entrances, and detour signage will be in place.
Please refer to the map below for an overview of the temporary road closure. The City contractor will maintain traffic flow where possible and keep existing sidewalks open, as long as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience.
